Put our Thermal Ratings Analyzer to Work for Your Utility Company
Simplify the FERC 881 compliance process by consolidating all thermal ratings calculations into one user-friendly platform. This eliminates the need for multiple tools, saving you hours of engineering time and reducing the potential for costly errors.
Our Thermal Ratings Analyzer offers a complete solution for calculating and storing electrical transmission line ratings. By automating the rating process, you no longer need to perform external calculations or manually input results, significantly reducing the risk of errors and enhancing accuracy.
AUTOMATED CALCULATIONS
Performs complex thermal ratings calculations in seconds using the properties of each line section and substation equipment.
DATA STORAGE
Securely stores data, allowing you to modify variables and regenerate calculations effortlessly.
Easily create and customize equipment types, accommodating non-standard equipment and unique specifications such as "Loadability Multipliers." This flexibility ensures that all equipment, including custom components, is accurately rated and compliant.
Our Thermal Ratings Suite is indispensable for planning and optimizing transmission lines— especially under stress conditions. Utilize the "Calculate Ratings as of a Given Date" feature to efficiently and accurately forecast future ratings and plan for required equipment upgrades.
Create custom data fields tailored to specific line sections, simplifying analysis and enabling precision reporting of unique materials, components, and other details.
With its hierarchical data structuring, our Thermal Ratings Suite allows you to subdivide line sections and generate detailed reports for individual segments or entire sections.
Schedule and track assessments for line sections, including monitoring anomalies and discrepancies. Document any detected threats or discrepancies and adjust ratings to ensure ongoing compliance.
The SQL Server database is integrated with Windows Active Directory, utilizing stored procedures to enhance data security. This ensures that only designated users can access sensitive data and functions and execute stored procedures, enhancing data security.
At PowerGrid Technologies, we expect our new clients to have a need to import their existing data into our system/database. Our developers can customize a Data Loader tool to import your existing data. Please contact us to discuss your data import needs.
Within the list of equipment associated with a line section, click the right mouse button on the equipment to be replaced to bring up the context menu. Click on the "Replace Equipment" menu item.
This will display a popup where you enter the date on which the equipment is to be replaced.
Once you have selected the date, click the Replace button. This will duplicate the piece of equipment and set the Out-of-Service and In-Service dates on the respective equipment. You can then simply update the properties of the new piece of equipment.
On the Analyzer’s main window, use the "Calculate Limiting Factors as of" calendar to select the date in the future/past of interest. The ratings will be recalculated as of this selected date.
The number, name, and properties associated with seasons is customizable by each Utility. Some Utilities use twelve (12), one per month, some use just one (1), and others are somewhere in between. Seasons are updatable from within the Thermal Ratings Analyzer.
The number and value of ambient temperatures is customizable by each Utility. It is a setting you can update from within the Thermal Ratings Analyzer.
PowerGrid is working on integrating a weather API to enable the retrieval of current and near-term weather to allow for current and predicted near-term ratings.
